Post: Two forms of cylinder liners

The cylinder is directly bored on the cylinder block, which is called an integral cylinder. The integral cylinder has good strength and rigidity and can withstand large loads. This type of cylinder has high material requirements and high cost. If the cylinder is made into a separate cylindrical part (i.e., cylinder liner), and then installed in the cylinder body. In this way, the cylinder liner is made of wear-resistant high-quality materials, and the cylinder body can be made of general materials with lower prices, thereby reducing the manufacturing cost. At the same time, the cylinder liner can be removed from the cylinder body, which is convenient for repair and replacement, and can greatly extend the service life of the cylinder body. There are two types of cylinder liners: dry cylinder liners and wet cylinder liners
The characteristic of dry cylinder liners is that after the cylinder liner is installed in the cylinder body, its outer wall does not directly contact the cooling water, but directly contacts the wall of the cylinder body, and the wall thickness is thinner, generally 1 to 3 mm. It has the advantages of an integral cylinder body, with good strength and rigidity, but the processing is more complicated, and both the inner and outer surfaces need to be finely processed, which is inconvenient to disassemble and assemble, and has poor heat dissipation.
